Track maintenance

NC Rail maintains railway tracks for main contractors, industrial track owners and other clients throughout Sweden and Norway. Track maintenance is about keeping the infrastructure reliable year after year: sleeper replacement, rail replacement, track alignment and fault rectification when the unexpected happens. We are based in Borlänge, in the middle of Dalarna where the Swedish Transport Administration is upgrading the lines around Falun and Borlänge for billions of kronor. The need for trackside capacity is growing across the entire country, and our work crews deploy wherever the assignments are located. The client gets experienced track technicians, clear reporting and a well-done job.

Preventative track maintenance

Preventative maintenance extends the life of the track and reduces the risk of emergency faults. NC Rail replaces sleepers and rails, adjusts the track alignment and keeps switches in order before wear becomes an operational problem. We schedule our interventions around traffic so that the line can be kept open as much as possible, and all work is documented and reported back to the client.

Regular track maintenance is the cheapest insurance against cancelled services. Small interventions at the right time save major costs further down the line, both for track owners and train operators.

Fault rectification and emergency interventions

Emergency faults require prompt and safe handling. NC Rail provides work crews that tackle everything from sun kinks and rail fractures to damaged switch components. We work under A, L and E protection with our own safety controller and can therefore be up and running as soon as the protection is granted.

The combination of track engineers and certified welders in the same team means that most faults can be rectified in a single intervention, without waiting for additional contractors.
